Dell is an industry leader in producing high value added, low to medium volume products for the aerospace industry which usually require complex process coordination. Quality System meets all of our customer's quality requirements.

Quality Certifications:

  • ISO 14001 Certification
  • ISO 9100 Certification
  • Process Control:

The IT department of Dell Manufacturing Company has developed Process Control System that integrates material control, engineering change history, MRB inspection results, and production prekit/tool offset generation in a secure multi-user database.

The computerized Process Control System (PCS) automates the creation and monitors changes to the manufacturing processes. In the PCS system, relevant emails and documentation are linked through computer with manufacturing floor functions such as material handling, providing direct control and monitoring of all the operations.

The PCS system captures the engineering changes and keeps the history of it for the future developments. Paperwork generated by this system has captured login information and date which makes manufacturing process faster and less error-prone.

The major modules of the PCS system are as follows:

  • Contract review information: Within this module, necessary contract information that comes from the customer side is checked against the Dell process revisions for making the parts.
    • Audit Trail Sheet System: With this module, authorized persons can make the change requests to the Engineers and then Engineers can make the changes in the PCS system if needed. All the Engineers and Quality persons have their computerized Queue to work on the tasks assigned to them.
      • Handling of the CNC Programs: CNC programs generated from the Engineers go to the Toolcrib personnel for the tool details. The PCS system adds the tool offsets to the CNC program and sends it to the DNC Server so that setup person can run that CNC program.
        • Prekit Paperwork: All the necessary paperwork for machine operator which includes Operation Sheet, Operation Procedure Sheet, First Piece Inspection Record Sheet, Production Inspection Record Sheet, Setup Sheet and Process Development History is managed by the Engineers and Quality. Once all paperwork is ready, Prekit personnel can print the paperwork for the job run.
          • First Piece Inspection: Information for the first piece from the Machinist goes to First Piece Inspectors to enter details into the PCS System. Production Inspection Record Sheet can be only printed when first piece is accepted or waived.
            • MRB Tracking System: During the production, details of scrap and rework parts are also captured in the PCS system with the barcode tracking system.
